112 law firms worldwide practising Power of Attorney Notarization. Narrow down by city to find a firm near you.
A power of attorney lets someone act for you when you cannot be there, and notarization makes that document acceptable to banks, land registries and courts. Lawyers and notaries in this field draft general or specific powers, lasting powers for health and finances, and documents for buying property, collecting an inheritance or running a company abroad.
Form requirements are set by the country where the document will be used. A civil law notary in Spain, Germany or Italy does far more than an American notary public, who mainly checks identity and signature. Documents used abroad often need an apostille under the Hague Convention or consular legalisation, plus a certified translation. Some countries reject powers that are too broad.
Fees for a power of attorney are usually fixed per document. In several civil law countries notary fees follow an official scale, such as the GNotKG in Germany. Lawyer drafting fees are often a flat amount, and contingency arrangements have no role here. Timing still matters. Apostilles take time to obtain, some registries accept a power of attorney only if it is recent, and powers can expire or lapse on incapacity unless made in a lasting form.
Before you book, ask the receiving bank or authority what format it accepts and send that to the lawyer. Ask whether the firm can handle the apostille and translation, whether a remote signing is possible, and how revocation works. Filter by country or city below.
